Deadlines for work on armoring a car

Time of armoring depends on the professionalism of the contractor, the brand of the vehicle, the class of required protection and its technological features.

Large automakers have special workshops for performing such work (for example, Mercedes-Benz has such a production facility in Stuttgart, Germany). About two hundred workers in a two-shift mode carry out a phased conveyor armoring of the frame, after which it is sent for assembly. On average, the creation of such a car can take 6 months or more.

The situation is a bit different with post-factory armoring, although a lot depends on the technical capabilities of a particular performer. The minimum term of work is 14 days, and in some cases, we can talk about 100 working days from the date of signing the contract. During this time, the company carries out:

dismantling of the facing;
welding of armored components and bulletproof glasses;
strengthening the suspension, brake system and other components to adapt the car to the increased weight;
assembly and return to the vehicle of its original appearance. At the same time, ArmorGroup retains the entire standard security system and factory paintwork.
